This was Community Watchmen Ministries (CWM) third visit to Uganda and we joined Catherine Brown, Revd. John King, Pastor Wes Zinn and Mike to complete the team Arnold Muwonge had gathered for the 5 day Rising Tide leaders Conference. It is always an honour to serve Arnold and the NDE Network Team
The Ugandan leaders are so eager for good teaching and are quick to share it when they get back to their local churches. They are such precious and beautiful people and we have so much to learn from them.

Monday saw the start of the conference delayed by a few hours due to a powerful storm and heavy rains (which stops everything!). 804 leaders from different denominations and styles of church had travelled the length and breadth of Uganda and Kenya to attend. Despite the delay, it started with an explosion of the love and power of God.
On Tuesday, we had workshops which the whole CWM team were involved in. Graham's workshops were about 'Dynamic Evangelism' and started the process of developing a network across Uganda for those keen to be involved in evangelism. Sue's were about 'Transformed Hearts and Minds' and it was thrilling to see so many people respond. Norma and Ann did two workshops called 'Women Arise' which were powerful times for all involved. Ruth was a wandering minstrel who moved between Graham's and Norma and Ann's groups singing over them all.
Catherine Brown's session related to the apostolic and prophetic, Wes Zinn's were about 'Kingdom Church (releasing the flow)' and John King's were about dynamic prayer – all were very well received.
Arnold's teaching was awesome as he exhorted leaders to be the best God had created them to be. He had a small drama team on hand to illustrate what he was saying about 'Who is holding your ladder?'. As he spoke, people sat on the edge of their seats hanging on to every word!
My first conference session was based around the story of John the Baptist's 'making the crooked places straight' and this brought an incredible response. Many leaders came to their knees as were explored the reasons we can be unfruitful. In response they started taking the lid off their traumas and allowing God to begin their healing process. This was a very gentle time, as God came and touched so many in a very powerful way.
Destiny Africa choir are full of joy and it was a thrill to be with them again and they led an amazing time of worship and prayer. Later in the afternoon every leader was prayed for, prior to the presentation if 600 bibles for them.
We continue to thank God for Arnold and his team – God is using them in such a powerful way to change the lives of so many people. |
